Day 10 - Saturday June 19th

We travelled from Prince Rupert to Ketchikan, Alaska
We are in Alaska!!
We were up at 4am to get in the line up as required to board the ferry. We boarded the ferry around 4:30 so it was nice to not have too long of a wait! During the night kids outside our hotel were hooting and hollering for quite a while. We certainly didn't get much sleep. Prince Rupert is not a place we would ever want to visit again. The ferry travelled along the inside passage staying close to the mountains. We didn't see any whales etc, however the entire 5 hour trip was filled with beautiful scenery. This was my first time on the Pacific Ocean!! We arrived in Ketchikan around 2pm and went for walk in the downtown "tourist" area for approx 2 hours.Everything pretty much closed down at 4pm when other cruise ships left port, but we did manage to see some shops.
We ventured away from the tourist area and and found the homes old and run down. Had a great supper to celebrate our first night in Alaska and Grant enjoyed a few samples of Alaskan beer.
