We stopped at the "White Horse" monument just outside of Winnipeg. Once again there is an Indian legend regarding this horse. Indian legends everywhere!! Have you guessed yet that I like these?? For this one, a chief's daughter was promised to another tribe's brave, however she loved another brave in her own tribe. The maiden's father listened to his daughter and allowed her to marry the brave she loved and gave them a white stallion as a wedding gift. Not so happy with this, the brave that had been promised the marriage seeked revenge and killed everyone, however the white stallion was spared. It is said that this beautiful creature can be seen still roaming the land.
Our lunch was at a little Chinese Restaurant and it was quite the experience. We all put our order in at the same time, however only 4 of us got ours and after 35 mins Will and Andrea had still not been served. Needless to say they left with empty stomachs which was finally filled at Jan's Steakhouse in Lanigan where we had supper that night. It was a little house that looked a bit frightful and the waitress was also the owner and chef. We were not expecting a very good meal, however it ended up being delicious!! After supper Andrea, Will and I went for a short walk then said goodnight as the morning comes fast!
